High School Baseball/Softball Roundup: Isabelle hurls John Stark to victory

Nathan Isabelle’s four-hitter and Aaron Roberson’s 3-for-3 day at the plate led the John Stark of Weare baseball team to a 5-2 victory at Lebanon on Tuesday.
Isabelle allowed three walks in addition to the four hits and struck out six batters. Roberson logged three steals in addition to his three hits. Rian Queen went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and was hit by a pitch twice for the Generals (4-0).
Salem 6, Nashua South 4: In Salem, Andrew Shumski pitched a four-hitter with a walk and four strikeouts. Only one of the Nashua South runs was earned. Jake Emerson had a double and two singles and knocked in three runs for the Blue Devils (4-4). Leadoff man Matt Soldano had a hit and a walk and scored three runs, and Shumski collected a double and single and an RBI. Mason Matelewski doubled twice and scored twice for South (3-2).
Exeter 10, Bishop Guertin 0: In Exeter, Noah Therrien took the loss, allowing four earned runs while striking out four. Brett Anderson doubled for BG (5-2).
Goffstown 5, Oyster River 3: In Durham, Taylor French allowed four hits and struck out 11 batters over six innings and Mitch Scacchi earned the save for Goffstown (5-0). Derek Steckowych logged two hits and two RBIs in his first varsity game for the Grizzlies. OR is 1-3.
Souhegan 11, Hollis/Brookline 8: In Amherst, Daniel Trzepacz belted two home runs and had three RBIs for Souhegan (2-2). Max Leonard pitched three innings to earn the win and Liam McGrath picked up the save. Joe Messina and Kyle Hsu both hit home runs for H/B (0-5).
Keene 13, Alvirne 9: In Keene, the Blackbirds broke a 9-9 tie with four runs in the fifth inning. Zach Mooers had four hits and four RBIs for Keene (4-2). Alvirne of Hudson (0-6) received home runs from Hayden Callery and Grady Hudson. All of Keene’s 13 runs were unearned. Alvirne made six errors.
Pittsfield 13, Sunapee 3: In Pittsfield, Cam Darrah went 2-for-2 with four runs scored and four steals while Casey Clark went 2-for-2 with four RBIs for the Panthers (2-1). Softball
Keene 4, Alvirne 0: In Hudson, Alyssa Bartlett tossed a three-hitter for Keene (4-2). Bartlett struck out four and walked three in the circle and also logged a hit and two RBIs at the plate.
The Blackbirds got two hits each from Megan Healey, Molly Harvey, Emily LaBounty, Brandie Worcester and Courtney Dunham. Alvirne is 3-2.
Nashua South 5, Salem 4: In Nashua, the Panthers (3-4) came back from a 4-0 deficit behind an unearned run in the fourth inning and four more unearned runs in the fifth frame. Erica Frothingham had two singles, an RBI and a run scored for South. Brianna Marino went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Abbey Cail had a single, a double and a run scored for Salem (4-2).
