Matt Oberste walked with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning, giving the host Binghamton Rumble Ponies a 5-4 victory over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Wednesday night.
The Ponies’ rally against Zach Jackson (1-1) began when Champ Stuart doubled to lead off the ninth. After a one-out wild pitch advanced Stuart to third, Jeff McNeil lined out for the second out. Jackson then intentionally walked two batters to load the bases before walking Oberste on a 3-2 pitch.
The Fisher Cats scored two runs in the top of the ninth to tie the game. Patrick Cantwell slugged a solo homer, and singles by Jonathan Davis and Bo Bichette put runners on the corners for Vladimir Guerrero Jr., who hit a sacrifice fly. Guerrero finished with three hits and three runs batted in.
Tim Tebow went 1-for-3 for Binghamton.
