High School Roundup: Carignan hurls Pembroke to winUnion Leader Staff

Chloe Carignan hurled a six-hitter to lead the host Pembroke Academy softball team past Coe-Brown Northwood Academy 1-0 on Thursday.
Carignan fanned seven and walked none as the Spartans improved to 5-1 in Division II. Olivia Langevin reached on a fielder’s choice, stole second, then scored on Olivia McCarty’s single for the game’s only run, in the fourth inning. McCarty and Rachel Denoncourt collected two hits each for Pembroke.
Coe-Brown is 2-2.
Pinkerton 16, Manchester Central 1: In Manchester, the Astros collected 16 hits in the Division I win. Hannah Frazier and Hannah Sundberg had three each, and Jackie Cerri, Alyssa DiMauro, Danielle St. Peter, Makayla Bolduc and Ellie Cashman had two each for Pinkerton (6-1). Reese Asselin scattered five hits. Matara Tamzarian had two hits for Central (2-3).
Goffstown 14, Bow 0: In Bow, Grizzlies sophomore pitcher Olivia Baldyga pitched a two-hitter, fanning 12 and walking none. Tegan Coyle had homers in the second and third innings to pace Goffstown (4-1), and Shannon Gifford added a pair of triples.
Exeter 20, Trinity 3: In Manchester, Josh Morissette had a home run and three RBIs as the Blue Hawks improved to 5-1. Bobby Cliche had a single, double and triple with three RBIs for Exeter, while Cody Morissette added an RBI single.
Colin Jackson earned the win on the mound for Exeter.
Foster Stacey had a triple and two RBIs for Trinity, (0-5) while Louis Rosenthall had a single and scored two runs and Cam Tomko had a pair of hits.
Coe-Brown 6, Pembroke 5 (eight innings): In Pembroke, Hunter DeCota delivered a three-run double with two outs in the seventh inning to tie the game and Coe-Brown pushed a run across in the eighth to earn the victory.
Brady Johnson started on the mound for Coe-Brown (3-1), going 5 2/3 innings and allowing five runs (four earned) while striking out seven. DeCota earned the win in relief.
In the eighth inning, Johnson doubled and moved to third before Jacob Rich’s grounder was misplayed, allowing Johnson to score what would be the game-winning run.
Jeff Wagner had two singles, and Joey Songen had a double and single for two runs batted in for the Spartans (1-5).
Jared Murray allowed five runs (two earned) over 6 2/3 innings.
Londonderry 22, Nashua North 7: In Nashua, Catie Derhak led the Lancers’ offense with five goals and an assist. Maddy Walden, Grace Chicko and Sarah Duarte added three goals and two assists each, and Allie Marsh chipped in with three goals. Meghan Jackes (one goal, two assists), Victoria Kelly (one goal), Hannah McCutcheon (one goal), Courtney Baharian and Lauren Doherty also scored for Londonderry (4-3).
Hanover 10, Salem 5: In Hanover, the Blue Devils received goals from Ben Genest (two), Alex Weston, Nick Gore and Michael Ference. Salem goalkeeper Sebastian Farah made 19 saves. Hanover improved to 2-5 while Salem dropped to 3-3.
Concord 12, Merrimack 6: In Concord, Brendan Pearl, Jeff Emmons and Eaton Tarbell each logged a hat trick for the Crimson Tide (2-3). Zach Painchaud (two goals) and Sam Nichols also scored for Concord. Merrimack (1-5) received two goals each from Jordan Petrocelli and Ben Eichman.
Nashua North 12, Manchester Central 4: In Manchester, North freshman Zac Mazczak was dominant at the face-off X, winning 15 of 16 face-offs. Todd Redman scored six goals, including the 100th of his career, and added two assists. Troy Bottari added five assists and a goal, and Martin Flaherty scored twice for North (2-2).
Exeter 14, Londonderry 5: In Exeter, Mike Penna scored five goals to lead the Blue Hawks (3-2), who led 10-2 at the half. Spencer Clark added three goals and goalie Henry Vogt made eight saves. Londonderry dropped to 3-2.
