High School Roundup: Nashua North gets by Souhegan

Tyler Bernard's five goals helped Nashua North get past Souhegan of Amherst 11-9 in boys' lacrosse action Saturday in Amherst.

Devin Linscott added three goals and two assists for the Titans, who also got goals from Drew Fleury and Jaden Murphy.

Nate Radin made 17 Saves, eight in the fourth quarter as the Sabers mounted a rally from a 9-3 deficit.

Tyler Hall led the Sabers with four goals. Ethan Hopey had two, and Nick Jordan and Riley Lawhorn each had one.

Exeter 13, Londonderry 9: In Londonderry, Mike Penna collected three goals and two assists, and David Fitzgerald and Ben Baldasaro each scored three goals to propel the Blue Hawks (9-3). Dayton Christianson added two goals and an assist for Exeter. Londonderry (6-4) received 20 saves from Mike McAllister.

Bishop Guertin 13, Xaverian (Mass.) 8: In Nashua, Brian Cameron had four goals and four assists, and Sam Prunier also scored four goals for the Cardinals (13-0). Xaverian (10-4) trailed 10-4 at halftime and 13-4 after three quarters. BG also received goals from Sean Cameron (two), Brennan McInnis (one), Nathan Binette (one) and Ben Abladian (one). James Heitmiller made eight saves for BG.

Longmeadow, Mass. 12, Pinkerton 11: In Longmeadow, Mass., the hosts scored three goals in the final quarter to overcome a 10-9 deficit and win.

Mason Drouin led the Astros with three goals and two assists, Owen McCormick had two goals and an assist, and Genarro Marra had two goals.

Chad Teresky notched a goal and three assists for Pinkerton (12-2), which got a goal and two assists from Ryan Auger and Tom Sweeney, and a goal from Hunter Drouin. Alex Sturgess made 12 saves.

Pentucket (Mass.) 16, Salem 5: In West Newbury, Mass., Layne Parenti led Salem with three goals. Paul Antonietti and Michael Ference chipped in one each. Sebastian Farah made 17 saves.

Girls' lacrosse

Bedford 11, Bishop Guertin 10: In Bedford, Hannah McCarthy led the Bulldogs with five goals. Sydney Lynch and Chamberlaine Bell scored two, and Mackenzie Chou and Riley Chou scored one each for Bedford (11-1). Bishop Guertin is 10-4.


Bedford 14, Nashua North 6: In Bedford, Maddie Fraitzl pitched a complete game and went 3-for-4. Erin Beaudoin had a three-run homer in the fourth, her first career high school home run.

The Bulldogs improve to 5-7 while North falls to 4-8.

Boys' volleyball

Keene 3, John Stark 1: In Weare on Friday, Myles Bergin had three aces and 20 kills for Keene. Ryan Walton had two aces, two kills, a block, 37 assists and seven digs.

Track and field

Campbell: The Cougars' girls team came in third out of seven schools and the boys finished third out of six at Saturday's Milford Invitational.

Senior Shelby Phillips came in third in pole vault and fourth in javelin. Sophomore Sierra Reinitzer came in fourth in shot put. Freshman Tori Allen came in second in high jump. In the running events, freshman Liz Breton came in fifth in the 200 and sophomore Gigi Gallagher came in third in the 400. In the 800, freshman Megan Whitnell came in fourth and in the 1600 senior Caitlyn Callinan came in fourth. In the 3200, sophomore Michelle Freeman came in sixth place. In the 100 hurdles, freshman Tori Allen came in second. In the relays, the team of Gallagher/Allen/Sanchez/Hemming came in second in the 4-by-400 and Callinan/Isabella Risitano/Freeman/Cassie Hemming came in second in the 4-by-800.

Senior Spencer Snell won the javelin and came in second in discus, and senior Tyler Meyers came in fifth in discus. Senior Luke Hogan came in second in pole vault. In long jump, senior Trevor Gomes won and in triple jump senior Nathan Bazzocchi came in third. Senior Patrick Clifford came in fifth in 110 hurdles. In the 100, Gomes came in second and Bazzocchi came in third, and in the 200 Bazzocchi took first. In the 800, junior Luke Gomes came in second. In the 1600, sophomore Tyler Scopelites came in sixth place and in the 3200 sophomore Trevor Scopelites came in fifth. In the 4-by-800 relay, the team of Gomes/Scopelites/Tyler O'Mara/Scopelites came in third.
