College Baseball: SNHU to play FPU at New Haven in NCAA first round

The Southern New Hampshire University baseball team is seeded fourth and will play Granite State rival Franklin Pierce University in the first round of the NCAA Division II East Region tournament at the University of New Haven (Conn.), it was announced on Sunday night.

The Penmen (35-15) and Ravens (32-13-1) were two of the five Northeast-10 Conference schools that made the seven-team, double-elimination tournament. New Haven was seeded No. 1 and will host the regional. Le Moyne was seeded third and will play No. 6 Merrimack College.

The SNHU-FPU game is set for Thursday at 7 p.m. It is the third and final game of the day, to follow Le Moyne-Merrimack at 11 a.m. and St. Thomas Aquinas-Wilmington (Del.) at 3 p.m.

The tournament continues Friday and Saturday.

The Division II championship will be held at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C., from May 26-June 2.
