NASHUA — A Granite Street man was arrested early Wednesday, accused of stabbing his roommate in the head, police said.

Gofur Alom, 26, of 9-1/2 Granite St., was charged with two counts of first-degree assault, each a Class A felony, when he was arrested about 3 a.m., police said.

Officers were called to a residence about 7:40 p.m. Tuesday to investigate a report of a man with blood on his face, police said, where the victim said he had been stabbed by his roommate, Alom. The man, who had two cuts on his head, was treated and released at a local hospital, police said.

Police obtained a warrant for Alom, who was arrested without incident, police said.

Alom was held on $20,000 cash or surety bail and was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Hillsborough County Superior Court South.

Police ask anyone with additional information to call them at 589-1665.
