To the Editor: The missing legislators who choose to take walks or not show up when they know there will be an unpopular vote are hurting our republic. Senate Bill 555, supported by both chambers and the policy committees, should have passed if there had been true leadership representing what is best for citizens.
New Hampshire’s Right-to-Know law, RSA 91-A, is one of the many laws our Legislature has passed leaving it to the citizens to enforce. Court costs alone will keep most citizens from being able to enforce the law and so we continue to be 49th in the nation for transparency. Shame on the New Hampshire Legislature, a so-called citizen legislature.
