May 16. 2018 10:01PM

MANCHESTER — Tickets are now on sale for the Wounded Warrior Amputee Softball Team doubleheader — the culmination of a weeklong softball camp run by, and for, amputees.

The camp gathers 20 young amputees, ages 8 to 12, from across the country to come together to play ball under the mentorship of amputee veterans and service members.

The camp is being held in New England for the first time this year, at Southern New Hampshire University in Manchester, and two of the 20 campers this year are New Hampshire residents.

The game will be held at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium, home of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, on Saturday, June 16.

Game 1 is Kids vs. Kids and Game 2 is WWAST vs. N.H. All-Star Team. Gates open at 1 p.m., and Game 1 starts at 2 p.m.

Tickets can be purchased at https://bit.ly/2qEdVPE, over the phone at (603) 641-2005 or in person at the Fisher Cats ticket office.

Tickets cost $7 per person. Children 8 and younger get in for free and obtain their tickets at the main entrance gate.

Volunteers and sponsors are needed for Game Day and for the camp, held Monday, June 11, through Sunday, June 17.

Interested volunteers and sponsors are asked to email Norm Harrison at info.kidscamp18@gmail.com.
