UNH club baseball team stays alive

The UNH club baseball team lost its first game on Saturday at the National Club Baseball Association Division III World Series, but came back to win its second later in the day to stay alive in the double-elimination tournament in Dubois, Pa.

UNH (2-1) needs to win two games today against Adrian College (2-0) to win the national championship.

In the ClubCats’ first game on Saturday, Adrian’s Kyle Stratton pitched seven innings for the win. Sam Werman took the loss for UNH, hurling five innings and allowing the one run.

UNH came back strong in the elimination game, outslugging Missouri S&T 7-6. Chris Clement homered for UNH, and Chris Hyland, Mike Plentzas, Anthony Degirolamo and Alex Haslam collected multiple hits for the ClubCats.
