RubberDucks deal Fisher Cats' Romano first loss of season

Jordan Romano suffered his first loss of the season as the New Hampshire Fisher Cats fell to the Akron RubberDucks 7-4 on Thursday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

Romano (8-1) worked six innings, allowing seven runs (six earned) on five hits and three walks. Two of the hits were homers allowed by Andrew Calica (solo shot, third inning) and Sam Haggerty (two-run homer, seventh inning).

Triston McKenzie (1-0) allowed one hit and no runs over five innings. He fanned four and walked two.

The Fisher Cats were held to four hits, including Harold Ramirez’ solo homer in the sixth inning. It was Ramirez’ second homer of the season.

The Fisher Cats host Bowie Friday night at 6:35 in the opener of a three-game series.
