June 12. 2018 11:37PM

MANCHESTER — A kitchen fire of unknown origin caused damage to a first floor apartment on the West Side Tuesday night, according to fire officials.

The first report of the fire at 360 Dubuque St., a three-story building, came in just before 7 p.m.

There were no reported injuries though firefighters requested the assistance of the Manchester Police Department to help maintain order at the scene, officials said.

Multiple units responded and the fire was reportedly knocked down by 7:20 p.m., but Manchester fire officials said they would remain at the scene well into the night Tuesday.

Neighborhood residents reported that firefighters rescued a dog from the building.

According to city property tax records, Christopher Vlangas has owned the circa-1910 apartment building since 2012. The 14-room building has six bedrooms, three bathrooms and is currently assessed at $236,400.
