NH Veterans News: Students to present flag cases to NHVH
June 14. 2018 12:35AM
TILTON — Students from Gilford High School will be visiting the New Hampshire Veterans Home to donate ceremonial American flag cases. GHS business teacher Steve O’Riordan and technology and engineering teacher Dan Caron stepped up in 2015 after learning the home’s previous supplier had stopped providing the cases, which are used to hold ceremonially folded flags at funerals. O’Riordan’s students do the fundraising and Caron’s classes build the boxes. The plan is to deliver 69 of the boxes on Friday, June 15, about 10:15 a.m., to the Tarr Dining Room of the NHVH, located at 139 Winter St., Tilton. Over the next year, NHVH residents will sand and stain the boxes.
