Dover police probe infant's death at child care center

DOVER — Dover police officials said they are investigating the circumstances behind how an infant child became unconscious at a local child care center and later died Thursday.

Officers with Dover police and Dover Fire and Rescue went to Honey Hill Child Care Center at 58 Central Ave. for the 1:50 p.m. report of an infant not breathing.

The child was brought to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital where the infant was pronounced dead.

No further information about the child’s death will be released until after an autopsy has been completed, police officials said.

Officials said the autopsy will be performed today at 9 a.m.
