Auxiliary elects new officers at convention

MANCHESTER — One hundred and eighty-three delegates of The American Legion Auxiliary Department of New Hampshire met last weekend at the Manchester Downtown Hotel for their annual convention.

Newly elected officers for the 2018-19 year are: Department President Carol Maynard of Epping, First Vice President Linda Dupont of Gorham, Second Vice President Donna Bryant of Jaffrey, Secretary/Treasurer Joyce Flanders of New Ipswich, Historian Terri Ouellette of Candia and Chaplain Melissa Greenwood of Hooksett.

Joyce Murnane of Fremont was installed as the sergeant-at-arms.

Paula-Carol Alger of Derry was elected as national executive committeewoman.

The delegates also elected the six ladies who are now delegates to the ALA’s National Convention that will be held in Minneapolis Aug. 24-30.

New Hampshire’s ALA district directors — who serve as the liaison between the units and the department office — were also chosen.

These women are: Linda LaPoint of Marlborough (District 1), Peggy Kurzwell of Merrimack (District 2), Bridget Ivey of Fremont (District 3), Elaine Smith of Manchester (District 4), Jean Drew of Penacook (District 5), Christine Gaynor of Lebanon (District 6), Anne Lamson of Ashland (District 7) and Colleen Pierce of Milan (District 8).
