DURHAM — A local woman was charged with prostitution Monday afternoon after she was allegedly seen accepting money for sexual acts.

Felicia Gray, 30, who lives on Spinney Lane in Durham, was stopped by police as she was driving on Mill Road. Gray was the only occupant in the car at the time of her arrest.

Deputy Chief of Police Rene Kelley said intelligence had previously been gathered that Gray was soliciting to engage in sexual acts with a man in return for money, which prompted further investigation.

Kelley said he does not anticipate any other arrests related to the charges.

Gray was bailed and released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail. She is scheduled to be arraigned on the misdemeanor charge Aug. 16 at Dover District Court.
