MANCHESTER — The Manchester Development Corp. has closed a $40,000 loan from the Queen City Loan Fund to a new brewery, the city announced Tuesday. To Share Brewing, operated by Aaron and Jenni Share, plans to open later this summer at 720 Union St.
“This funding allows us to make those last few purchases that we need to get the brewery and taproom open by the end of the summer,” the husband and wife team said in a statement.
The Shares previously told the Union Leader they plan to invest more than $400,000 in the project, including personal savings and a large bank loan. In June, they launched an online fundraising campaign on Indiegogo and reached their $20,000 goal by the fourth day.
The Queen City Loan Fund provides new and existing Manchester businesses access to debt capital for growth or expansion.
“The Shares’ entrepreneurial spirit is an example of why the Manchester business community is thriving,” MDC chairman Donald St. Germain said.
