Union Leader, WMUR, NHIOP to host primary debates for gubernatorial, Congressional candidatesStaff Report

MANCHESTER — The New Hampshire Union Leader is partnering with WMUR and the New Hampshire Institute of Politics to host primary debates in the contests for governor and U.S. Congress from Sept. 4-7.
Each hourlong debate will be televised live from the Institute of Politics, beginning at 7 p.m. Candidates will face questions from a panel of New Hampshire journalists, including veteran Union Leader reporters Shawne Wickham, Dave Solomon and Kevin Landrigan, with WMUR Political Director Adam Sexton serving as moderator.
Democratic gubernatorial candidates will debate on Tuesday, Sept. 4.
Democrats running in the 1st Congressional District will debate on Wednesday, Sept. 5.
Republicans running in the 1st Congressional District will debate on Thursday, Sept. 6.
Republicans running in the 2nd Congressional District will debate on Friday, Sept. 7.
Incumbent Republican Gov. Chris Sununu and Democratic 2nd Congressional District U.S. Rep. Ann McLane Kuster are unopposed in the primary.

The primary elections will be held on Sept. 11.
