Sex offender accused of assault in Nashua

August 09. 2018 11:10PM

NASHUA — Nashua police arrested a registered sex offender with no known address Wednesday for felony assault and for his failure to report his change in residence.

Louis Spaulding, 46, was arrested because of a July 24 incident in which officers responded to the bike path behind the Nashua Public Library. A victim said Spaulding had assaulted him, police officials said.

During the investigation it was discovered Spaulding had failed to notify law enforcement about his change of address within a required time frame which also was a Class B felony.

Spaulding’s criminal record included convictions of raping a child in 1990 and sexual assault in 2007. Both of those crimes were in Massachusetts and required he register as a sex offender.

His most recent address was on Cox Street in Nashua according to public records.

Spaulding was held on $25,000 cash bail before his arraignment Thursday in Hillsborough County Superior Court.

Anyone with more information on this matter is urged to contact the Nashua police Crime Line at (603) 589-1665.
