Fisher Cats lose to Altoona for second straight nightStaff Report

Jin-De Jhang broke a tie game with a seventh-inning two-run double to lead the Altoona Curve to a 3-2 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Wednesday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium in Manchester.
Despite Altoona’s second win in as many nights, New Hampshire remains in first place, 3½ games ahead of Trenton, in the Eastern League’s Eastern Division.
Jordan George hit his fifth homer of the year in the third inning to stake Altoona (65-53) to a 1-0 lead. The Fisher Cats (67-50) got even in the fifth when Connor Panas singled home Forrest Wall.
Jhang’s double scired Ke’Bryan Hayes and Bryan Reynolds to out the Curve on top, 3-1. Max Pentecost got one back for the Fisher Cats in the eighth with his sixth homer of the year. Gunnar Heidt led off the ninth for the Fisher Cats with a single, but the home team didn’t get the tying run home.
James Marvel (1-1) got his first Double-A win, pitching seven innings of four-hit, one-run ball for Altoona. Mark Eckelman notched his eighth save.
Kirby Snead (3-4) took the loss in relief for the Fisher Cats. He allowed two runs on two walks and a hit in the key seventh inning. Hector Perez started and went six innings for the Fisher Cats, allowing two hits and one run. He fanned seven and walked none.
The series concludes with a 7:05 p.m. game tonight. T.J. Zeuch (8-4, 3.12 ERA) pitches for the Fisher Cats while Eduardo Vera (6-3, 4.48 ERA) goes for the Curve.
