Manchester Monarchs sign defenseman Chris Carlisle

The Manchester Monarchs have signed defenseman Chris Carlisle for the upcoming season.

Carlisle, 23, returns from playing overseas. He skated in 45 games last season for HC Bolzano of the Austrian Hockey League, where he racked up four goals and nine assists for 13 points, while recording 32 penalty minutes.

The 5-foot-10, 174-pound native of Fort Lee, N.J., played two seasons for the Binghamton Senators in the AHL from 2015 to 2017, where he totaled 139 games and scored seven goals and 21 assists for 28 points. Carlisle appeared in two games for the Evansville IceMen in the ECHL during the 2015-16 season and recorded two assists.

Carlisle and the Monarchs open the season on the road against the Brampton Beast on Oct. 13 and return home on Oct. 19 to face the Newfoundland Growlers.
