Eddie Edwards: Character and service

September 04. 2018 8:44PM

Time and again, Eddie Edwards has proven the strength of his character and his dedication to service.

We trust Edwards to continue to serve with distinction as the representative of New Hampshire’s First Congressional District.

In an increasingly-bitter primary campaign, Edwards’ opponent is trying to turn his experience against him, belittling Edwards’ service in the U.S. Navy, as a New Hampshire liquor enforcement officer, and as a local police chief as that of a government bureaucrat.

Edwards has been a leader. At the Liquor Commission, he stood up to political pressure and racially-charged criticism. He could have gone along to get along.

Edwards is a strong conservative, and has built a broad coalition of Republican primary voters. In addition to being the best candidate in the race, he also represents the GOP’s best chance to win in November.

For the past 12 years, the First District has been ill-served in Washington as political hacks Frank Guinta and Carol Shea-Porter traded the seat back and forth. It is past time for a principled, independent voice.

Eddie Edwards has spent his adult life serving his country, his state, and his community. He has proven his ability and his commitment to service. He is the best choice for Republicans and independents in Tuesday’s First District primary.
