Fishing contest is for disabled vets

Moultonborough The public is invited to the 19th Annual New England Paralyzed Veteran and Disabled Bass Fishing Tournament held at Camp Robindel, Geneva Point Road, Moultonborough, Saturday, Sept. 8.

Participation is free for disabled anglers. Financial support of the event comes solely from sponsors, donations and fundraising efforts. The event is supported by American Eagle Bass Anglers, as well as volunteers.

The event provides the veterans with an opportunity to get back out on the water and fish, swap fish tales, reunite with old friends, and begin new and lasting friendship.

The event starts Friday, Sept. 7, when anglers arrive. The tournament begins Saturday, Sept. 8, with catch-and-release weigh-in taking place from 2 to 3 p.m. Dinner, an awards ceremony, raffles, a silent auction, music and campfires follow.
