SCOTT GAGNE

MANCHESTER — After a struggle in the street Thursday, police arrested a 29-year-old city man on charges of drug possession and resisting arrest.

Det. Capt. Sean Leighton tried to stop Scott Gagne, 29, on a drug court warrant about noon, police said, when Gagne allegedly walked across Valley Street while the detective told him to stop.

Gagne pulled away and clenched his fist when Leighton grabbed his arm, police said, and Leighton “transitioned” Gagne to the pavement on Valley Street where they struggled until officer Emmet Macken arrived and Gagne was arrested.

The officers discovered a bag containing what they believed to be fentanyl on Gagne during a search, police said.

Gagne was charged with resisting arrest, possession of a controlled drug and the original drug court warrant.

He was scheduled to be arraigned Friday in Hillsborough County Superior Court North.
