CONCORD — A Manchester man whose shooting death led to an extended neighborhood lockdown died of a single gunshot wound to the chest, authorities said Monday.
New Hampshire Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald and Manchester Police Chief Carlo Capano issued a joint release Monday with the findings of an autopsy conducted Saturday on Justin Lee.
The announcement came as Manchester police continued searching Monday for Paul Dimick, 26, who is wanted on a charge of murder and who has been at large since the shooting Friday morning.
Armed officers stood outside Monday morning and afternoon as police searched several apartment buildings in the area of Hanover and Maple streets, about a block from where police found Lee after he had been shot about 11 a.m. Friday.
Lee died later Friday at Elliot Hospital.
Police locked down the neighborhood, including nearby Central High School, late into Friday night.
Police ask anyone with information about Dimick to contact Det. Michael Lavallee at (603) 792-5514 or Det. Sgt. Christopher Biron, at (603) 792-5545 or the Manchester police main line at (603) 668-8711.
