NHIAA Roundup: Bishop Brady, Derryfield girls prevail

Four goals in 10 minutes created a wild finish, but the Bishop Brady High of Concord girls’ soccer team emerged victorious with a 3-2 triumph over Hopkinton at Shaker Road School in Concord on Tuesday.

Sheridan Brummett scored two goals in two minutes with five minutes to play to propel the Green Giants (4-1). Brummett, a freshman, scored the game-winning tally on a penalty kick. Adrienne Brummett, Sheridan’s older sister, also scored for Bishop Brady in the opening minutes of the game while keeper Emily Senko made six saves.

Hopkinton (3-2-1) found the net twice in a three-minute span to get a brief lead before Sheridan Brummett’s scores. Ellie Morrall’s and Emily Metzger had the Hawks’ goals.

Derryfield 1, Trinity 0: At Derryfield School in Manchester, senior Maddy Thorne scored on a penalty kick in the 73rd minutes as the Cougars secured their first win. Brooke Nolan made eight saves for the shutout. Goalie Taylor Frenette starred for Trinity (5-1), making eight saves. Derryfield is 1-3-1.

Windham 3, Merrimack 1: In Merrimack, the Jaguars received goals from Ali Scheibel, Alyssa Tarabocchia and Amanda Stivala improved to 2-1-1. Jess Thibodeau notched seven saves for Windham. Riley Streeper scored the lone goal for Merrimack (1-2), assisted by Siobhan McMakin.

Londonderry 2, Winnacunnet 0: In Hampton, Alyssa Anderson notched both goals for Londonderry (4-0). Kelly Calawa assisted on Anderson’s first tally, which came in the 28th minute. Olivia Stowell picked up the assist on Anderson’s second goal, which came in the 41st minute. Jasmine Richard made seven saves for the Lancers. Kennedy McCarthy made 10 stops for Winnacunnet (3-1).

Manchester Memorial 2, Salem 1: In Manchester, Ally Veillieux and Avah Gurney both scored over the opening 52 minutes to give Memorial a two-goal lead. Julia Filep and Lela Conners each had an assist for the Crusaders (2-2). Salem (0-3-1) pulled within a goal in the 65th minute.

Manchester Central 6, Dover 0: In Manchester, Madison Tremblay scored twice and Paige LaBerge, Ajlina Cehic, Tori Keyes and Erin Flurey each added a goal for Central (3-0). Jessica Lewis made three saves for the Little Green. Kaile Krenzer made 12 saves for Dover (1-3).

Goffstown 1, Timberlane 1: In Plaistow, Adrianna Cartier provided the goal for Goffstown (2-1-2). Timberlane is 1-2-1.

John Stark 9, Pelham 1: In Weare, Alex Pike and Chelsea Woodsum each notched a hat trick for the Generals (5-0). Sara Nikias, Aria Ulmer and freshman Diana Stafford also scored for John Stark.

Boys’ soccer

Manchester Central 4, Dover 0: In Dover, Brenden Walsh, Joshue Assantha, Sam Catore and Paolo Todesco each scored for Central (3-0), which received three saves from Alex Walker. Sam Hass made nine saves for Dover (1-4).

Salem 2, Manchester Memorial 0: In Manchester, Memorial committed an own goal in the 50th minute and Salem (2-2) scored inside the final 15 minutes. Evan Monrue made five saves for the Crusaders (1-2-1).

Londonderry 2, Winnacunnet 1: In Londonderry, Brady Hanley and Hunter Smith each scored in the opening 38 minutes to give the Lancers a 2-0 halftime advantage. Pete Misiaszek and Tyler VanAvery each tallied an assist for Londonderry (3-1). Winnacunnet of Hampton (1-3) scored its lone goal in the 71st minute on a penalty kick.

Timberlane 2, Goffstown 1: In Goffstown, Jacob Stewart scored both goals for Timberlane of Plaistow (1-3) in the first half. Nick Mason scored the lone goal for Goffstown (1-3-1).

Hopkinton 3, Laconia 0: In Hopkinton, the Hawks (4-2) received goals from three players to top the Sachems. Ian Heck and Logan Rockwood scored in the first 17 minutes and Derek West added an insurance marker in the second half. Sam Crawford notched the shutout without having to make a save. Laconia (3-3) received six saves from Lucas Beane.

Trinity 6, Inter-Lakes 0: In Manchester, the Pioneers stayed unbeaten (5-0). Dom DiZillo, Ethan Frenette and Colby Barker each scored twice and Anthony DiZillo posted the shutout.
