Newport man dies in Route 103 crash in Sunapee

SUNAPEE - A Newport driver was killed in a two-car crash Tuesday morning on Route 103, police said.

Richard Hart, 65, of 258 Sunapee St., was pronounced dead at the scene of the 9:17 a.m. crash near Young Hill Road, police said.

The other driver, Richard J. Briand, 79, of 4 Argyle Road, Arlington, Mass., was taken to New London Hospital for treatment of injuries, police said.

Route 103 was closed for about four hours, police said. An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, police said.
