LEBANON — A Vermont woman was arrested Wednesday night after officers found drugs and a small child in her car in Lebanon, police said.

Around 11:30 p.m. Lebanon police responded to a call about a suspicious female possibly on drugs in a parked car in a lot on Dartmouth College Highway. Upon arrival, officers found a 6-year-old child sleeping in the car.

The driver, Amanda Wotton, 37, of White River Junction, Vt., was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.

She was arrested and charged with felony possession of a narcotic drug. Police expect more charges will be filed.

The child was released to family members.

Wotton was released on bail and is expected to appear in court Sept. 24.
