MANCHESTER — A Hillsborough County jury convicted Manchester resident Dwayne Reddick on a charge of trafficking crack cocaine on Thursday, a conviction that could place him in prison for life.

The jury issued the guilty verdict just minutes after reconvening for the day. Reddick was shot during a home invasion in January 2017, and police found 5 1/2 ounces of crack cocaine and $604 in cash in a safe in his apartment. Reddick had objected to the search, but police had obtained a warrant.

Serving as his own lawyer, Reddick called no witnesses nor gave any testimony.

“Any time a defendant represents himself, it makes trial a little more interesting, but I think the jury got it right,” said Assistant Hillsborough County Attorney Andrew Ouellette, who prosecuted the case.

Given Reddick’s previous conviction on trafficking charges, he faces a maximum prison sentence of life, Ouellette said.
