MANCHESTER — A Concord man who was a passenger in a car pulled over for not using a turn signal was arrested on a drug charge Wednesday afternoon, police said.

According to a news release, an officer saw a passenger get out of a 2016 Ford Focus and briefly meet with someone on Lake Avenue before running back to the car.

The officer stopped the Focus near Canal and Granite streets about 4:50 p.m. after he said the driver failed to use a blinker.

During a search of the car consented to by the driver, another officer said he found a small bag of crack cocaine on the passenger-side floor where George Beaton, 50, had been seated. Beaton was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled drug and violation of bail conditions, police said.

He was scheduled to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court North on Thursday, police said.
