Military News: Former Weare resident promoted in Air Force Special Ops

Corey Fossbender, formerly of Weare , son of Robert Fossbender of Francestown, was promoted to Chief Master Sergeant in the Air Force Special Operations.

He has served in Afghanistan and Iraq and is the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge on an AC-130 gunship. He is stationed at Hurlburt Field in Florida.

Chief Fossbender has made more than 2,000 flights and, of those flights, he has participated in 500 sortie missions. He has been in the Air Force 26 years.
