October 09. 2018 8:02PM

CHELMSFORD, Mass. — Massachusetts State Police identified the two New Hampshire drivers killed in a crash early Monday on Route 3 in Chelmsford.

Rebecca Savoie, 42, of Nashua was the driver of a 2014 Nissan Altima that Mass. State Trooper Andrew Valeri said had been driving more than 100 mph southbound in the northbound left lane of Route 3 prior to the accident.

Officials said Savoie was driving from New Hampshire at the time of the crash.

At roughly 1:30 a.m., Savoie’s Nissan Altima struck a 2010 Dodge Avenger operated by Noah Martin, 21, of Hudson, head-on, police officials said.

Savoie was dead at the scene. Martin was brought to Lowell General Hospital where he died.

After the accident, two of the three lanes on Route 3 northbound were closed for about three and a half hours.

This crash remains under investigation with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and Crime Scene Services Section.

Mass. State Police were assisted on scene by Chelmsford Fire and EMS, Mass. Department of Transportation and the Mass. Medical Examiner’s Office.
