KINGSTON — The Kingston Veterans Club is hosting a road rally and cookout event in support of The Voice Library, which aims to bring comfort to families by allowing them to hear their loved ones’ voices in the form of recorded story books.

As one example, The Voice Library allows parents being deployed overseas to record books for their children back home to listen to.

The KVC’s hourlong road rally will take place Sunday, Oct. 14. Classic/muscle cars, motorcycles and scooters are welcome. Scooters will be available to rent.

Morning registration is at 9:30 a.m., and the procession will leave the club at 10 a.m.

The route will run from the club, from Route 111 to Exeter, then from 27 to 88 to Route 1 South. From Route 1, Route 84 to 150, and Route 107 back to the KVC for a free cookout.

Driver registration is $25 per person; the cost is $10 for each additional rider.

For more info on the event, contact the KVC at 642-3419. For more information on The Voice Library, go to thevoicelibrary.net/militaryfirst.
