November 12. 2017 9:18PM

The Plymouth State University football team is traveling more than 400 miles for its first-round game in the NCAA Division III football championships.

The Panthers (9-1), who won the MASCAC title by finishing 7-1 in league play, will visit the College at Brockport, part of New York’s state university system, on Saturday at noon. Brockport won the Empire 8 Conference and is 10-0.

Saturday’s game will mark the fifth NCAA tournament appearance for the Panthers, their first since 2008. Plymouth State is 1-4 all-time in the tournament, posting its only win in 1994.

The Division III final is set for Dec. 15 in Salem, Va.
