Assault report leads to arrests at Manchester hotel, hospital

MANCHESTER — An early morning assault in the lobby of the Holiday Inn hotel on New Year’s Day resulted in criminal charges against two New Hampshire residents, police said.
The assault took place about 2:30 a.m. in the lobby of the hotel, located on South Porter Street, police said.
Romunada Washington, 23, of West Lebanon, was charged with two counts of second-degree assault. He is charged with choking a Keene man and striking a glass bottle over his head.
The alleged victim, Adam Dezaine, 24, of Keene, was transported to Elliot Hospital. While being treated for a cut to his head, Dezaine allegedly punched an interior hospital window, sending shards of glass flying. The glass narrowly missed two hospital security guards and a Manchester police officer.
Dezaine was charged with reckless conduct, disorderly conduct and criminal mischief.
Washington and Dezaine were released on cash bail and given appearance dates at Hillsborough County Superior Court — North. Washington must appear Jan. 11, and Dezaine on Feb. 2.
