Hooksett man arrested, charged with driving while intoxicated
HOOKSETT — Police arrested a Hooksett man Saturday night on drunk driving charges after they say he failed to stop at a stop sign.
Hooksett police conducted a motor vehicle stop around 8:40 p.m. Saturday on Lindsey Road after they say a man identified as Shamvu Gurung, 48, of Hooksett failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection.
According to Hooksett police, the officer conducting the traffic stop said it became apparent Gurung was under the influence of alcohol. Police said he agreed to standardized field sobriety tests, and was arrested.
Police transported Gurung to the Hooksett Police Department, where he agreed to a breath test that resulted in a blood alcohol content reading of .11, police said.
Gurung was charged with driving while intoxicated and released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail. He is to appear in court on March 29.
