PELHAM — Police say a driver was arrested late Monday night for driving under the influence after he was found passed out behind the wheel of his vehicle, which was stuck in a snowbank in a McDonald’s parking lot.
Officers with the Pelham Police Department responded around 11:10 p.m. on Monday to the Bridge Street restaurant for reports of a customer who had entered the drive-thru and appeared intoxicated. Police say the driver, identified as Ryan O’Grady, 20, of Pelham, was found passed out at the wheel.
O’Grady’s gray 2008 Ford Mustang, still in drive, had rolled into a snowbank after picking up the food, according to police.
Officers, who attempted to wake him several times, reported he was intoxicated. They subsequently placed him under arrest for underage driving under the influence.
O’Grady was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail.
He is scheduled to appear March 26 in a Salem District Court to answer the charge.
