ROCHESTER — Police are asking the public to help find whoever threw an acidic substance on vehicles at First City Cars and Trucks on Milton Road in Rochester.

Police Capt. Jason Thomas said Tuesday morning there were several thousand dollars in damage, and that the incident could result in felony charges of criminal mischief.

About 9:20 p.m. on July 12, a white four-door, older-model sedan was pictured in surveillance footage at the used car dealership.

“The person never got out of the car. He pulled in close to the other vehicles and tossed a container with an acidic substance at them,” Thomas said.

Thomas said the substance was so acidic it ate away the paint in certain spots on each vehicle.

Police ask anyone with information to call 330-7128 and to reference 18-3169-OF.

Thomas said there is a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest. People who want to remain anonymous can call 335-6500, he said.
