CONCORD — A local man is free on bail after his third DWI arrest in four months, Concord police said Wednesday.

The most recent arrest of Jackson Rwigema, 37, took place Monday night, after he drove a Honda Pilot into a tree on East Side Drive. A photograph distributed by police shows the front of the SUV mangled in the accident. Witnesses told police Rwigema was seen speeding on East Side Drive, passing on a double solid yellow line and drifting off the road before the accident.

Concord firefighters used extrication tools to remove Rwigema from the wreck, in which he suffered serious injuries, police said. Police arrested him at Concord Hospital and charged him with aggravated DWI, a felony.

On July 2, police arrested Rwigema for DWI and driving without a license. Police found him after answering a call about two men trying to tip over a crew boat.

On April 20, police arrested Rwigema for aggravated DWI after a parking-lot accident at Concord Royal Gardens.
