DOVER — Jeramie Colella, 44, was arrested and charged Monday night with second-degree murder in the deaths of his wife and father, authorities said.

The bodies of Joanna Colella, 43, and Francis Colella, 69, were found Monday morning at a condo at 18 Tideview Drive.

“The cause and manner of death will be determined pending an autopsy which is currently scheduled for Wednesday,” Attorney General Gordon MacDonald and Dover Police Chief William Breault said in a short statement.

Earlier in the day, authorities described the deaths as suspicious and said there was no information to suggest any threat to the public.

Jeramie Colella is scheduled to be arraigned on the murder charges in Strafford County Superior Court today at 1 p.m.

Assistant Attorney General John J. Kennedy said the home is owned by Jeramie and Joanna Colella. Francis Colella was staying there, Kennedy said.

Neighbors in the condo association did not know much about the people who lived at the residence.

At the scene, the area surrounding 18 Tideview Drive was blocked off with yellow police tape. An officer made sure the area stayed secure and a crime scene vehicle was parked outside through the afternoon.

Earlier in the day, the two bodies were removed from the residence. The state coroner was seen at the condo about 2 p.m.

The 1,250-square-foot, 2-bedroom, 1.5 bath townhouse is located near Garrison Elementary School.

During the day, officers worked with members of the state Attorney General’s office to interview individuals at the police station downtown.

The investigation remains ongoing.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sgt. Mark Nadeau at 603-742-4646 or m.nadeau@dover.nh.gov.
