Hooksett vehicle stop ends with multiple charges

HOOKSETT - A Plymouth woman and an Epping man are facing several charges after their vehicle was stopped Tuesday night, police said in a press release.

According to police, a vehicle driven by Nichole Dempsey, 42, of Plymouth was stopped for an unregistered vehicle violation on Hooksett Road near Silver Avenue at 9:17 p.m.

Police said Dempsey told them her license was suspended, and it was also discovered that she had a $500 cash electronic bench warrant on a theft by deception. She was arrested for operating after suspension, unregistered vehicle, altering/modifying a temporary registration, and the warrant.

Police said the passenger in the car, James Deveau, 48, of Epping was found to be in possession of heroin. He was arrested for drug possession.

Both were taken to the Hooksett Police Department to be booked and processed.

Dempsey was held on the bench warrant. She was taken to Merrimack County Jail, and has an appearance scheduled in Hooksett District Court on Nov. 17.

Deveau was released on $10,000 personal recognizance bail. He is scheduled to appear in Merrimack County Superior Court on Oct. 26.
