EXETER — A local man accused of physically assaulting two nurses at Exeter Hospital turned himself in on Friday.

Police said Todd Metevier, 37, is charged with three counts of misdemeanor simple assault.

According to police Capt. Stephan Poulin, Metevier allegedly grabbed and headbutted one nurse in the face and punched another in the cheek area.

He said injuries included bruising and a bloody nose from the headbutt.

Officers were called to the hospital Feb. 27, where they determined Metevier assaulted the two nurses within the hospital’s intensive care unit, police said.

Metevier was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victims.

He is scheduled to be arraigned in Brentwood circuit court on April 10.
