MANCHESTER — Jason Covey didn’t want to leave, then didn’t want to be found and then didn’t want to be arrested Tuesday night, but had no such luck, according to Manchester police.

Police allege that Covey, 32, entered and hid in a crawl space after a woman told him to leave her apartment after he’d walked in uninvited.

As police closed in on him, Covey tried to hide underneath attic insulation before eventually leaving the crawl space, police said.

When police tried to take him into custody, Covey allegedly became combative and started fighting.

“He was transitioned to the ground when he punched Officer Matthew Nocella in the face,” police said Wednesday.

Covey continued to scuffle until being shocked with a Taser, police said. Insulation clings to Covey’s face and T-shirt in his booking photo.

Covey is charged with simple assault, criminal trespass, resisting arrest or detention and criminal mischief. He was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Manchester District Court.
