LONDONDERRY -- A Manchester man was arrested Thursday night after police say he pointed a handgun at someone during a road rage incident.

William Soares, 22, was arrested for driving under the influence, felony reckless conduct and an open container violation and later released on $1,500 personal recognizance bond.

About 11:40 p.m. Thursday, police received a call from a teenage driver about a road rage incident that began in the parking lot of TJ Maxx. The teen said another driver pointed a gun out the window at him, according to police.

Police didn’t immediately find the threatening driver, but about 30 minutes later received a report of a car crash on High Range Road near Columbia Drive. Police found the crashed vehicle matched the description of the one from the road rage incident.

The driver, Soares, suffered minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital, police said, and a semi-automatic pistol was found on the front passenger-side floorboard.

Soares will be arraigned at a later date.

Anyone with information can call officer Sean Benoit of the Londonderry Police Department at 432-1118.
