Police seek man in Manchester armed robbery

MANCHESTER — Police released a surveillance image of a man whom they said engineered an armed robbery at a convenience store on Tuesday night.

Officials said the robbery took place about 7:25 p.m. at Z1 Express at 650 Second St., where the robber entered the store, immediately accosted a clerk who was washing the floor and demanded cash.

The robber pointed a handgun at the clerk, ordered her to open the cash register drawer, removed an undisclosed amount of cash and fled, police said.

The clerk described him as; approximately 5’07, thin build with unknown colored eyes. The Caucasian man was wearing a black ski mask, a dark colored, hooded sweatshirt with a small logo on the left chest, black pants and sneakers. He was armed with a black automatic style handgun at the time of the robbery.

The clerk was not injured, police said.

Police tried to use communications equipment to track his whereabouts, but he was not located, officials said.
