SALEM — A man threatened a store clerk with a “very large knife” and demanded cash at the 7-Eleven at 108 Cluff Crossing Road about 2 a.m. Tuesday, said local police.

Police released surveillance footage of the man on Facebook and are asking for the public’s help to identify him.

Police have described the man as Hispanic, of a medium build, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and wearing a long-sleeved tan shirt with light blue jeans. He wore a black ski mask during the robbery, but briefly revealed his face on camera before covering it again, according to police.

The clerk handed over an undetermined amount of cash and the man fled on foot in the direction of Lancelot Court, police said. Police searched the area with their K-9 but were unable to locate the man.

On the Salem NH Police Department Facebook page, authorities urged the man to contact police.

“If you are the one who played peek-a-boo with the ski mask, please, give us a call,” police wrote. “We would love to chat.”

Anyone with information can call detective John O’Donnell of the Salem Police Department at 893-1911.
