A 15-year-old Goffstown boy is being treated for serious injuries in a Boston hospital after an accident involving his dirt bike and an automobile driven by a woman who was later charged with driving while intoxicated, say Goffstown police.

At approximately 9:11 p.m. Monday night, Goffstown and Dunbarton police responded to the motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Black Brook Road and Snow Road.

Upon arrival, police located the boy who had sustained serious bodily injury and he was identified as the driver of the dirt bike.

After assessing his injuries, Goffstown EMS had him transported to an unspecified hospital in Boston for treatment of his injuries.

Photos of the scene indicate that the teen was wearing a helmet at the time of the incident.

While they declined to provide a name, police say the driver of the automobile was a 30-year-old female. The woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated and was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Because the investigation into the incident is ongoing, police were unable to go into details about the specific nature of the accident. However, images from the scene indicate that the automobile was severely damaged and ended up in the woods beside the roadway.

Police declined to say whether or not the woman was breathalyzed at the scene.

There were no other passengers or vehicles involved.

Anyone with additional information is asked to contact Goffstown police officer Nicholas Roussel at (603) 497-4858.
