EXETER — Three teenagers have been charged in connection with last month’s theft of two cars, one of which was found burning in Stratham.
Police on Monday announced the arrests of Tyler Peel, 18, of Brentwood; Madison Parah, 19, of Kingston and a 16-year-old juvenile from Stratham.
The two vehicles belonging to the same owner were reported stolen from an apartment complex parking lot Oct. 15
Police said one was found burning in Stratham while the other was located near the edge of the Exeter River in Exeter. Both vehicles were destroyed, police said.
Police said there appears to be no motive for the thefts, calling them “random crimes of opportunity.”
Both vehicles were left unlocked with the keys inside, police said.
Peel and the juvenile are each facing two counts of theft of a motor vehicle, one count of theft from a motor vehicle and one count of criminal mischief.
Parah was charged with two counts of theft of a motor vehicle. All the charges are Class B felonies.
Bail for Peel and Parah was set at $5,000 cash for each.
Peel and Parah are scheduled to be arraigned in Brentwood circuit court Nov. 17 while the juvenile was petitioned to appear in Brentwood Family Court on the charges.
