Two charged with burglary of Sandwich ice cream shop

SANDWICH — State Police and Sandwich Police are charging two men with burglarizing a local ice cream shop on Wednesday, April 11.

Thomas Saujon, 33, of Effingham and Francis Dimarzio, 23, of Tamworth, are charged by State Police for drug possession and theft while Sandwich Police will be charging the pair with burglary of the Sandwich Creamery at 134 Hannah Road in North Sandwich.

Local police first responded at 8 p.m. to the business on the report of a burglary there.

Sandwich Police asked area police departments to be on the lookout for the vehicle believed to be involved.

At 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, state troopers located the car at an address in Ossipee and identified the pair there as matching the description Sandwich Police had provided.

A search of the car yielded evidence of burglary and drug possession according to State Police officials.

Dimarzio was held on $5,000 cash bail at the Carroll County Jail in Ossipee while Saujon was held on $10,000 cash bail.
