August 29. 2018 12:26PM

MANCHESTER — A woman taken into custody on an outstanding warrant was charged with drug possession after being spotted allegedly disposing of heroin in the holding cell toilet.

Megan Papadopolos, 34, who has no fixed address, was taken into custody after police stopped a vehicle operated by Alfredo Gonzalez, 51, in the area of McGregor Square about 6:30 p.m. Monday that she was a passenger in, according to Manchester police.

Papadopolos was arrested on an unspecified warrant and taken to police headquarters where she was placed into a holding cell. Later, according to police, an officer saw Papadopolos squatting on the floor of the cell and when she stood he saw an item he believed to be heroin or fentanyl on the floor.

As soon as she stood up, police said, Papadopolos walked to the toilet and flushed something before the officer could open the cell.

Papadopolos was removed from the cell where six grams of heroin or fentanyl was later located.

Papadopolos was charged with possession of a controlled drug and scheduled to appear Wednesday in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North.
