Newport taps nano breweries for fifth annual Brewfest this Saturday

NEWPORT — The Newport Area Chamber of Commerce presents its fifth annual Brewfest Saturday in Newport Town Common from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

To highlight “nano breweries,” the event will feature Bad Lab Brewing Co., Belgian Mare Brewing Co., Big Water Brewing Co., Concord Craft Brewing, Farnum Hill Ciders, Granite Roots Brewing Co., Rockingham Brewery, ​Shackett’s Brewing Co., Squam Brewing and Swift Current Brewing Co.

“(Nano breweries are) limited to ​2,000 barrels of beer production per year. Some breweries start off as a nano while they work their kinks out, before they upgrade to a micro brewery, (while) others are happy producing quality small batch beer in limited quantities,” event organizers said at

Tickets to this year’s Brewfest are $30 in advance and $35 at the door.
